Trullo is a wonderful Italian restaurant located right next to Highbury & Islington station that serves delicious unique dishes. Leni & Mimi were invited to a tasting event at Trullo on February 2nd and we were very lucky enough to taste pretty much everything on the menu! It was lovely to see the great bloggers we met at the Prosecco Tasting and Pizza Making at Assaggetti: Ernest from Yin & Yang, Duck from Anastasia & Duck, Alexxsia from My Labyrinth, Charlie from Girl a la Mode and the amazig Alix, organiser of this gorgeous event! Was also so lovely to meet Coard from Fero Fero and the beautiful Emma!
We started our evening with some cocktails, drinks and olives (they were delicious). Mimi absolutely loved the Trullo Negroni (she had 2 glasses!); a perfectly balanced alcoholic drink and not very strong.
As there is a very wide selection on the Trullo Menu we all decided to have everything so we can taste it all and get a better overview of Trullo's food. The wonderful thing about Trullo is that all dishes are quite small, therefore you would only have to order 3-4 things from the menu and you will get the chance to taste all the different flavours. Mimi's favorites were: Potatoes alla plancha with smoked paprika and aioli (£4.50), Cuttlefish with bay and red onion, Mozzarella di Bufala with Anchovy Crostini and Amalfi Lemon (£8.50) and the gorgeous Ravioli!
To finish off this wonderful evening Mimi decided to have a dessert of course; she had the Rhubard and Almond Tart (£6). It tasted SO amazing and wasn't heavy at all; the perfect way to end the wonderful meal at Trullo.
Thank you Trullo & Alix for an amazing evening and also thank you Tim for great service!
